Your New R40 ProUpdated a month ago

Your New R40 PRO

Your package has just arrived!

We are just as happy about that as you are. But before you get started, there are a few important things to consider:

Tire pressure

The tires may have lost some pressure during the time in the box. Driving with too little pressure can cause serious damage to the scooter. Therefore, be sure to check the tire pressure before the first ride and at regular intervals. Depending on the weight of the driver, the tire pressure should be between 2.5 and 3.5 bar.

Disc brakes

The mechanical brakes may need to be adjusted to suit you before your first ride. To do this, use the adjustment wheels on the respective brake lever.

App connections

The app offers you a lot of useful information about your scooter and helps you plan your tours in advance, including charging stops. The app is purely optional and not essential to using the scooter.
To connect your scooter to your phone via Bluetooth, you need the VMAX E-SCOOTER app (available for iOS and Android).

Kickstart or Zero start

This is what we call the scooter's two starting modes. We recommend the kick start, especially for inexperienced riders. Here, the scooter will not start if you just press the accelerator. In this mode, you start as if you were riding a kick scooter and only press the accelerator when you are already rolling and both feet are safely on the footboard.
In zero start, the scooter starts moving when stationary. Since the drive comes from the rear wheel, the front wheel can rise into the air if you have your weight on the back of the scooter.
To switch between the two modes, you can simply go to the display settings.

Driving position

The R40 PRO is ridden in a sporty position with slightly bent legs. This position is supported by the low handlebar.
For controlled acceleration, the center of gravity must be shifted forward. This prevents the front wheel from losing contact with the ground. When braking, the center of gravity is shifted to the rear wheel by adopting a slightly sitting position. The center of gravity too far forward on the scooter during heavy braking can cause the rear wheel to rise and the scooter to become difficult to control.

Driving modes

By briefly pressing the "S" and "D" buttons you can switch between the two driving modes of the R40 PRO. In first gear the scooter travels up to 20 km (about 12.43 mi)/h, in second gear it unfolds its full potential and takes you safely to your destination at up to 40 km (about 24.85 mi)/h.
