Your package has just arrived!
We are just as happy about that as you are. However, before you get started, there are a few important things to consider:
Tire pressure
The tires may have lost some pressure during the time in the box. Driving with too little pressure can lead to various damages to the scooter, as an important job of the tire is to cushion the scooter.
Be sure to inflate both tires before your first ride. Depending on the driver's weight, the tire pressure should be between 2.5 and 3 bar.
Drum brake
The scooter's mechanical drum brake must be adjusted to your weight before riding.
To do this, turn the adjustment wheel at the bottom of the building cable either a little further up (the brake then grips more firmly) or downwards (the brake then grips more gently).
Recuperation brake
The electric engine brake is a recuperation brake. If the scooter is switched off or the engine has a low speed, then there is very little braking force.
To prevent rolling away on a slope, for example, always use the left combination brake.
Connect with the VMAX app
Our app offers you a lot of additional information about your scooter, such as the mileage of the current trip or your battery level in percentage and lets you quickly access settings such as the driving mode, kick or zero start and the lighting. But do not worry: If you do not have your cell phone with you or lend the scooter to your friends: the app is a purely optional part of your scooter. It works easily even without your cell phone.
To connect your cell phone to your scooter via Bluetooth, you need the VMAX CONNECT app for Android or iOS.
Immobilizer
You can easily activate your scooter's immobilizer using the app. Your scooter will then lock the rear wheel electrically, so you do not have to worry about the scooter simply being driven by others.
However, you should only use the immobilizer if you can still keep an eye on the scooter. If you move further away from your scooter, we definitely recommend using a sturdy lock .
Kickstart or zero start
These are what we call the two approach modes of the scooter. We recommend the kick start, especially for inexperienced drivers. Here, the scooter does not start when you press the throttle, but it must roll for this to happen. In this mode, you drive as if you were driving scooter and only press the accelerator when you are already rolling and both feet are securely on the footboard.
In zero start, the scooter starts at a standstill. Since the drive comes from the rear wheel, the front wheel can rise into the air if your weight is on the back of the scooter.
To switch between the two modes, you can simply go to the app's settings. Alternatively, you can change the driving mode by quickly pressing the start/stop button on your scooter four times.
