Your New VX4
Your package has just arrived!
We are just as happy about that as you are. However, before you get started, there are a few important things to consider:
Important Features
1. Beast Mode (from 21.7mph to 25mph) To activate: Press the power button 5 times. There will be no confirmation beep or change on the display, but it will be enabled.
2. Cruise Mode (Keeps the throttle on so you don’t have to hold it) To activate: Press the power button 3 times. There will be no confirmation beep or change on the display, but it will be enabled.
Please Note: This does NOT set your current speed as the “cruise” speed, like it does in cars. Rather, when you have cruise mode enabled and have been at max throttle or at the same speed for several seconds in a row (about 5 seconds), then you can release the throttle and it will keep your set speed. Turn off by using brake or throttle again.
3. Kick-start or Zero-start mode (Changes whether the throttle works from 0mph or ~2mph.) Activate it on either the display or in the app.
4. Eco to Sport Mode: By tapping on the E/S button you can switch from Eco Mode (Gear 1) to Sport-Mode (Gear 2) and you'll see this on the display. Sport mode will increase your power and torque but does not affect the top speed.
Tire pressure
The tires may have lost some pressure during the time in the box. Driving with too little pressure can lead to various damages to the scooter, as an important job of the tire is to provide suspension to the scooter.
Be sure to inflate both tires before your first ride. Depending on the driver's weight, the tire pressure should be between 3 and 3.5 bar.
Drum brake
The scooter's mechanical drum brake must be adjusted to your weight before riding.
To do this, turn the adjustment wheel at the bottom of the Bowden cable either a little further up (the brake then grips more firmly) or down (the brake then grips more gently).
Recuperation brake
The electric engine brake is a recuperation brake. If the scooter is switched off or the engine has a low speed, then there is very little braking force.
For example, to prevent rolling on a slope, always use the left combination brake.
App connections
The app offers you a lot of useful information about your scooter and helps you plan your tours in advance, including charging stops. The app is a purely optional offer and is not absolutely necessary to use the scooter.
To connect your scooter to your cell phone via Bluetooth, you need the VMAX E-SCOOTER app (available for iOS and Android).
Pin Lock
You can find all the information on how you can lock your scooter with a PIN or change the PIN in our video: How to change your pin

Kickstart or zero start
These are what we call the two approach modes of the scooter. We recommend the kick start, especially for inexperienced drivers. Here, the scooter does not start when you press the throttle, but it must roll for this to happen. In this mode, you drive as if you were driving a scooter and only press the accelerator when you are already rolling and both feet are securely on the footboard.
In zero start, the scooter starts at a standstill. Since the drive comes from the rear wheel, the front wheel can rise into the air if your weight is on the back of the scooter.
To switch between the two modes, you can simply go to the app's settings.
USB port on the steering bridge
Your VX4 offers you the option of charging your cell phone while driving so that you can use the navigation even on long journeys. For this purpose, a USB-A port is installed below the left control unit. To use this connection, plug the cable and your cell phone into your scooter when it is switched off and then turn your scooter on. This is the only way to unlock the power supply to the connection.
