Your new VX5 (PRO)
Your package has just arrived!
We are just as happy about that as you are. But before you get started, there are a few important things to consider:
Important features
1. Beast Mode: Ready for more speed? Tap the ON button five times to shift from Mode 1 (max speed of 16 mph) to Mode 2 (max speed of 19 mph). Look for a "13" on the display, then push the throttle, to toggle between modes. Then, hit the ON button another 5 times to lock in the mode you chose. 2. Eco or Sport Mode: Tap the ON button once to switch from Eco-Mode to Sport-Mode (you’ll see a white S on the display). 3. Cruise Control: Tap the ON button three times to activate Cruise-Mode for those long, relaxing rides. Want to revert? Just tap the ON button three times again. (A quick note: This does NOT set your current speed as the “cruise” speed, like it does with a car. Rather, when you have cruise mode enabled and have been at max throttle or at the same speed for several seconds in a row (about 5 seconds), then you can release the throttle and it will keep your set speed. Turn off by using brake or throttle again.) 4. Kick Start to Zero-Start: Tap the ON button four times to switch your scooter from requiring a kick to start to starting from zero with just the throttle. |
Tire pressure
The tires may have lost some pressure during the time in the box. Driving with too little pressure can cause various types of damage to the scooter, as one of the tires' important tasks is to provide suspension for the scooter.
Make sure to pump up both tires before the first ride. Depending on the rider's weight, the tire pressure should be between 3.2 and 3.8 bar.
drum brake
The scooter's mechanical drum brake must be adjusted to your weight before you ride.
To do this, turn the adjustment wheel at the bottom of the handlebar either a little bit upwards (the brake will then grip more firmly) or downwards (the brake will then grip more gently).
Regenerative braking
The electric motor brake is a recuperation brake. When the scooter is turned off or the motor is running at a low speed, there is only very little braking force.
To prevent rolling away on a slope, for example, always use the left combination brake.
Connecting to the VMAX App
Our app offers you a lot of additional information about your scooter, such as the number of kilometers on your current trip or your battery level in percent, and lets you quickly access settings such as the driving mode, kick or zero start and the lighting. But do not worry: If you do not have your phone with you or lend the scooter to your friends: The app is a purely optional part of your scooter. It works perfectly even without your phone.
To connect your phone to your scooter via Bluetooth, you need the VMAX CONNECT app for Android or iOS.
Immobilizer
You can easily activate the immobilizer on your scooter using the app. Your scooter will then electrically block the rear wheel, so you do not have to worry about someone else driving the scooter.
However, you should only use the immobilizer if you can keep an eye on the scooter. If you are moving further away from your scooter, we recommend using a sturdy lock in any case.
Kickstart or Zero start
That is what we call the scooter's two start-up modes. We recommend the kickstart, especially for inexperienced riders. Here, the scooter does not start if you press the accelerator; it must roll for that to happen. In this mode, you start off as if you were riding a kick scooter and only press the accelerator when you are already rolling and both feet are safely on the footboard.
In zero start, the scooter starts moving while stationary. Since the drive comes from the rear wheel, the front wheel can rise into the air if you have your weight on the back of the scooter.
To switch between the two modes, you can simply go to the app's settings.
Alternatively, you can change the driving mode by pressing the start-stop button on your scooter four times quickly.
