Rear IndicatorUpdated 2 months ago
You need to change
- Phillips screwdriver
- Allen key 2.5
- Open-end wrench
- Scissors
- Shrink tubing (alternatively insulating tape)
- Hot air dryer or lighter
- OPTIONAL: Spray adhesive or hot glue
- OPTIONAL: Thread
Changing your rear indicators starts at the front of the scooter. The plug connection for your indicators is hidden behind the front maintenance flap.
It's best to compare the cable with that of your replacement indicator. Cut open the shrink tubing and unplug your indicator. It's best to tie a piece of thread to the plug so that you can pull it through the frame more easily later.
Now remove your engine cover on the corresponding side. To do this, first pull the rubber plugs out of the cover and then loosen the screws with an Allen key.
Now you can pull the cover together with the indicator out of the scooter.
Immediately loosen the thread and leave it in the scooter for a while. Then unscrew the indicator. If the threadlocker adhesive causes you problems, heat it up first with a hot air dryer.
Once you have installed the new indicator, you can attach the thread to the plug of the new indicator and pull it forward through the frame.
Then reassemble all the elements on the back of your scooter. Before you connect the new indicator, pull the shrink tubing over the cable. If you use insulation tape, the water resistance of your scooter may be reduced.
If your rubber mat no longer stays on the maintenance hatch, reattach it with some spray adhesive.
