Rear light and mudguardUpdated 2 months ago

You need to change

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Allen key 2.5 mm
  • Allen key 3.0 mm
  • Open-end wrench 7 mm
  • Scissors
  • Shrink tubing (alternatively insulating tape)
  • OPTIONAL: Spray adhesive or hot glue
  • OPTIONAL: Thread

Changing your rear light begins - perhaps a little unexpectedly - at the front of the scooter. The plug connection of your scooter is hidden behind the front maintenance flap. To remove this maintenance flap, you have to loosen 2 screws at the top and bottom of the scooter.

Cut open the shrink tubing and unplug your rear light. It's best to tie a piece of thread to the plug so that you can pull it through the frame more easily later.

Then remove your mudguard. If you are riding a VX2, you can skip the following 2 steps.

With the VX2 PRO you now also have to remove the support strut. To do this, remove the rubber plugs on both sides of the engine cover and then dismantle the engine cover with the Allen key.

You can then separate the support strut from the frame. Hold the nut with the open-end wrench and loosen the screw with the Allen key.

Now you can pull the tail light together with the mudguard out of the scooter.

Immediately untie the thread and leave it in the scooter.

Now you can loosen the cable of the rear light on the inside of the mudguard. If you are changing the mudguard, also remove the hook for the folding mechanism.

Once you have installed the new taillight (or your old taillight in the new mudguard), you can attach the thread to the plug of the new light and pull it forward through the frame.

Then reassemble all the elements on the back of your scooter. Before you plug in the new light, pull the shrink tubing over the cable.
